I take music education very seriously, believing that music matters and learning it leads to a greater appreciation of our world well beyond the realm of clefs and scales. My lessons and lesson plans are tailored to each individual student, making sure that they get the most out of their lessons and meet their personal goals, while fostering a sense of play and creativity.
I encourage my students to take ownership of their learning, building on their strengths and working through their weakness. My lessons are about more than learning flute technique; they're about tapping into and developing my students' creativity. Music is fun and learning it should be too – the more fun we're having, the quicker we learn!

Lessons are paid in monthly instalments before the first lesson of the month. Payments can be made via Bank Transfers or Credit/Debit payments online. Invoices will be sent out once the next month's lesson schedule has been confirmed.
Lessons must be paid 24 hours before the first lesson of the month. If payment has not been received before the first lesson of the month, that first lesson will be cancelled and charged in full. The teacher reserves the right to suspend lessons until full payment is received.
Tuition does not include the cost of sheet music (except for Tiny Toot lessons, which do include music and equipment).
There are no refunds! If lessons are cancelled in a timely fashion, a makeup credit will be issued (see Attendance for cancellation policy).
Online lessons can be cancelled or rescheduled with 12-hour notice for a non-emergencies. If the student contacts the teacher in less than 12-hours, their lesson time is forfeit and not credited back. Emergencies will be considered at the teacher's discretion.
In-person lessons can be cancelled or rescheduled with 24-hour notice for a non-emergencies. If the student contacts the teacher in less than 24 hours, their lesson time is forfeit and not credited back. Emergencies will be considered at the teacher's discretion.
It is the student's responsibility to log into the provided Zoom link at the appropriate time. If they do not, the lesson time is forfeit and not credited back to the student.
Lessons are reserved for specific time slots regardless of when the student calls. For example, if the lesson is scheduled for 1pm-2pm and they log into Zoom at 1:15pm, the lesson will still finish at 2pm and the full fee charged.
If the teacher needs to cancel or reschedule a lesson, she will contact the student with as much notice as possible and a makeup lesson will be offered. If the student is unavailable for the makeup lesson, a credit will be issued to the student for the missed lesson.
It is recommended that students book regularly weekly or bi-weekly lessons to ensure that they get a devoted time slot, though it will be possible to book ad hoc lessons by month for those students who are unable to reserve regular lesson times.
Students/parents may request new regular lessons times. These will be discussed on a case-by-case basis and cannot be guaranteed.
Fluting should be fun!
Despite all these scary rules, I'm still human and will make exceptions at my discrepancy.
Finally - I love teaching and I hope to foster a love of flute and performance in my students, so lessons are first and foremost about having fun!!
